Smartmatic informs Venezuela and the International Community:
United Kingdom, London – October 20, 2017 – Smartmatic did not provide any products or services of any kind for the regional elections held in Venezuela on October 15, 2017.
To fulfill contractual obligations acquired long before the regional elections, Smartmatic simply delivered its software to the National Electoral Council, in the presence of the political parties, for a source code audit.
However, Smartmatic did not participate in the configuration of the voting machines, nor did it provide services for other phases of the election such as results tabulation or managing logistics processes.
It is important to highlight that payments corresponding to the services rendered to the Venezuelan State for the Parliamentary Elections of 2015 and the election to the National Constituent Assembly of 2017 remain pending.
