Smartmatic Expands Global Footprint

London, United Kingdom – January 7, 2019- Smartmatic closed 2018 celebrating the expansion of its global footprint to include high-profile clients such as Denmark, Norway, London, and Los Angeles.

Of note, the European Commission granted the Smartmatic-Cybernetica Centre of Excellence for Internet Voting (SCCEIV) a new research award under the Horizon 2020 Programme. The award will allow Smartmatic-Cybernetica to continue developing cryptographic techniques and protocols to protect data and enable Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) on voting technology platforms.

Smartmatic also became a founding member of the United States Department of Homeland Security Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Council, which aims to advance the physical security, cyber security, and emergency preparedness of the U.S. election infrastructure, in accordance with existing U.S. law.
