Smartmatic is modernizing the election experience with a new ballot marking device (BMD) that is VVSG 2.0-compliant, accessible for all voters and offers an intuitive voter experience, which is what people expect from today’s technology.
Voters of all abilities can easily make their selections, review the ballot, make changes if needed and print a human-readable, paper ballot.
The hardware of Smartmatic´s BMD is based on Los Angeles´ innovative voting machine. Smartmatic has been LA County´s partner in modernizing their elections since 2018. The machine leverages all the benefits of LA’s VSAP voter-centric hardware. Powered by our new intuitive software and with one of the largest touchscreens in the industry, it delivers a unique, optimized experience.
