James Long

VSAP Project Director

James has more than 15 years of voting systems and certification experience. He is a recognized expert on voting system testing and certification.

James began working at Smartmatic in 2016 as Senior Solutions Manager. Prior to joining the company, he was the Director of Voting System Testing for NTS.

As a staff member at the United States Election Assistance Commission he worked with the National Institute of Standards and Technology on updating testing requirements for voting systems.

At Kennesaw State University, he assisted in the certification testing of voting equipment as a Systems Administrator.

James is a graduate of Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
