Our highly qualified and experienced personnel are organized around the key areas of competency so that you can engage Smartmatic to undertake discrete components of the election process or manage it completely in one fluent sequence.
A Complete Range of Options
Election management
In this capacity, Smartmatic serves as the general manager of the project:
- coordinating the efforts of our client;
- strategic allies and other suppliers;
- managing regulatory compliance with respect to tallying rules and laws, questionnaires, roles and responsibilities, and official document formats;
- evaluating and specifying infrastructural needs, including evaluation of the physical facilities;
- directing public relations.
Documentation
In addition to the Election Report containing detailed instructions on the deployment and functioning of the specific solution being implemented, we provide training and informational material to ensure the entire staff performs optimally. Our detailed worksheets, for example, enable workers to understand and operate the entire electoral process from the voting centers to the central tallying system.
Training
We will train and certify the operators, support technicians and production personnel who will work with the voting machines and tallying system.
Telecommunications
Smartmatic conducts a thorough evaluation of the network infrastructure between the polling places and tallying centers. We also configure the informatics network, covering design, equipment, installation, testing and certification.
Configuration and organization of the election
This phase encompasses:
- configuration of the electoral data and the event, including: electoral demography, voting centers, voting lists, eligible posts, tallying and adjudication rules, candidates, political alliances.
- organization of ballots
- logistics during the election day
- contingency planning
Support
We define the support procedures and requirements according to the specific needs of each election. They generally include help desks for voting centers, tallying centers, backup and field personnel.
Auditing
The ability to support such thorough and complete auditing processes distinguishes SAES. This process involves careful examination of:
- the source code,
- hardware,
- operating system,
- complilation process and final application protection,
- signature verification,
- voting closure,
- printing and transmitting of results
- comparing printed results with central tallying systems and the voting receipts.
Marketing and media
We apply our expertise in this area to produce press conferences, press rooms and briefing notes, or special events relating the performance of the electoral technology during the event.
