Smartmatic takes SAES voting system to Paris
Caracas, October 03, 2004.- For the very first time, Smartmatic Corporation has exhibited the Smartmatic Automated Election Systems (SAES) to a European audience. Smartmatic, along with its business partner Olivetti, presented the electronic voting solution to experts and academics at the International Electronic Democracy Forum in Paris during the first week of October.
Smartmatic presented its electoral technology and displayed various voting machines, electronic ballots and systems to attendees of the forum. During the event, attendees were able to interact with the voting system and gain firsthand knowledge of the electronic voting process, the benefits of this voting solution and the many advantages of the Smartmatic Automated Electoral System (SAES) technology.
Throughout the course of the forum academics, political experts and the general public evaluated the importance of electronic voting systems and discussed the increasing usage of such systems in electoral campaigns around the world. Several other major multinational corporations were present at the forum including Nokia, Siemens, Accenture, Steria, Atos, Symantec and more.
