Smartmatic showcases advanced public safety platform in Thailand expo
The Phillipines, July 8th 2011.- Smartmatic is all set for the Asian unveiling of its revolutionary public safety solution at SecuTech 2011 Thailand, the first and the biggest security, fire and safety trade fair in the region. Known as USP-Unified Security Platform®, Smartmatic's solution is the only platform that unifies a wide array of technologies that make up the public safety operation into a single environment: emergency call response and mobile unit dispatch, remote video surveillance and telemetry. Smartmatic's USP is designed to make operating procedures more agile. It provides richer intelligence and surveillance, allowing for better planning, definition, evaluation and continuous improvement of operations and public policies.
"Unlike legacy solutions, the ground-breaking Unified Security Platform® is based on purpose-specific technology components designed specifically for the mission-critical environment of emergency response," according to Smartmatic Asia/Pacific President, Cesar Flores. Flores said that this makes USP a typical Smartmatic product, conceived around the ideal of helping governments to perform better, and that includes keeping citizens safe against crime, violence, natural disasters, and other emergencies.
Unified Security Platform® is a true end-to-end solution covering the entire lifecycle of the emergency response operation, from an initial report or emergency call, all the way to the resolution of incidents. It distributes workloads intelligently among operators, optimizing their leverage, closely taking into account their capabilities and expertise in relation to the incidents requiring a response. USP automates phone calls, the tracking and escalation of events, handles notifications and messages, and allots from a potentially vast array of resources available from government agencies in order to take due care of the incident at hand. Under USP, many manual processes are automated, including real-time localization of emergencies and real-time tracking and positioning of response resources and operations, using Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
A key feature of USP is that it includes a comprehensive set of tools that enable effective interagency coordination, as well as tools to simplify operations management of the Command and Control Center.
The Unified Security Platform® solution will be featured in Smartmatic's booth (B20) in SecuTech Thailand, which runs from June 30 to July 2, 2011 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC). The trade show is expected to draw some 6,000 visitors from all over the world.
