Smartmatic and Sequoia Voting Systems showcased its electoral solution to a community of experts and scholars at the Third Global Election Organizations (GEO) Conference and the Association of Central and Eastern European Election Officials (ACEEEO) General Assembly hold between September 14 and 17 of 2005 in Siófok, Hungary.

Smartmatic - Sequoia presented its electoral services (logistics, audit, support, qualification, documentation, project management, tabulating software, etc.) and its two latest direct recording electronic voting machines: SAES3000 and SAES3300. In a conference on ?The Challenges of Electronic Vote? Mr. Robert Cook, Vice President of the Elections Business Unit, highlighted the leading edge engineering and highly flexible and auditable voting technology available for the SAES machines. These systems together with their electronic ballots were shown and made available for testing by the attendees.

The Conference created the maximum amount of networking and consultations among the election officials, global and regional electoral associations and international organizations involved in electoral issues. The main subject of the event was "Legal remedies in the election processes" and "Standards of electronic voting".

The successful meeting draw together about 200 election experts from 30 countries and it was important for election professionals who are faced with managing, administering, and mediating electoral events in challenging circumstances, as well as it provided participants with more than a unique network within which to share information and ideas.

The event organized by the ACEEEO and the National Electoral Office of Hungary in cooperation with: Elections Canada, International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES), International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), Institute of Federal Elections (IFE, Mexico), United Nations Election Assistance Division (UN EAD) provided valuable professional development opportunities and promoted the use of new and appropriate electoral technology.
