Smartmatic receives the South Florida Technology Award

Miami, July 11, 2001.- The device-networking solutions provider Smartmatic, announced its nomination as finalist of the South Florida Business Journal's 2001 Technology Award, an award that recognizes the most outstanding high technology companies of the state.

As stated in the official press release of Deloitte & Touche, the consulting firm presented the award: "The nomination was made for the new technological offer that Smartmatic is introducing in the market, making the concept "Everything Connected" a reality.

"Given that South Florida is quickly gaining recognition as one of the high technology, Internet, and telecommunications development poles in the United States, the 2001 Technology Award is a way to honor the most innovative firms in our area", says Robert Haeffner, manager and consultant of Deloitte & Touche.

"Smartmatic is part of a small and select group, recognized for its achievements in the local technology industry", says Michael Heller, director of Venture Capital Relations of Deloitte & Touche. The company's solutions are already being used by different organizations of Enterprise Global 500, in the areas of telecommunications, finances, and oil.
