Smartmatic promotes evoting in Nepal
Nepal, February 12 2014. - During the seminar titled “Voting Technologies as Key Components of Transparent Elections”, world leader in election automation, Smartmatic, promoted e-voting in Nepal last February 12.
The event was organized by the International Center for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) and was headlined by Commissioner Neil Kantha Uprety, chief of Nepal’s election commission; Zurab Kharatishvili, electoral specialist and former chairman of the central election commission of Georgia; and Cesar Flores, President of Smartmatic Asia Pacific.
Nepal electoral commissioner Uprety delivered the opening address and was followed by a talk on “Opportunities and Practices in Using Technologies in the Election Cycle” by Mr. Kharatishvili.
Cesar Flores presented “Key Studies of Successful and Failed Implementations of Election Technologies”.
Afterwards, a very lively demonstration of Smartmatic´s technologies such as our PARmobile, SAES-888 and VIU-700 ensued. A number of good points and questions were raised by the attendees, which in turn was enthusiastically answered by the Smartmatic delegation.
