Venezuela
Audits
Among the evaluations the SAES electoral solution undertook befote the parliamentary elections, the following can be highlighted: Engenieering Tests (october 28 and 29 2005), Electoral Simulation (november 13 2005), Source Code Audit (november 17 2005) and Pre-dispatach Audit (november 27 2005). In all of these oportunities, Smartmatic electoral technology proved the quality of its performance and the reliability and exactness of its results.
At the end of the voting day, 12.260 ballot boxes containing the physical voting vouchers were oponed, which represented aproximately 45% of the 27.330 voting machines deployed over the national territory. This posterior audit faithfully revalidated the electoral results and confirmed yet again the reliability of the SAES system. Both the Organization of American States (OAS) and the European Union (EU), present during these audits, stated that the SAES voting machines are highly reliable and safeguard the will of the elector.
