Fare Collection System
The design of our electronic ticketing system is based on a scalable series of hardware units and software dedicated to the collection and management of electronic credits by the user of public transport. These credits are registered in a Contactless Smart Card (CSC), which the user can purchase through a Distribution and Sales Network deployed in the city of Cartagena.
For this fare collection system, Smartmatic supplies the required devices, equipment, and control and management applications for the required command centers. We also provide the urban furnishings and moving vehicles with the necessary intelligence to interact with these control elements.
Fleet Management and Control System
The Management and Control System for the Transcaribe Fleet was developed as a support tool for the programming, tracking and control of the public transportation fleet and of the operators/supervisors equipped with GPS portable devices. The information generated by this application forms the basis for an Exploitation Aid System, which helps Transcaribe to make decisions and build policies that increase the system's operational efficiency.
During contingency scenarios, the system allows to take efficient and immediate actions, in order to minimize interruptions to the operation of the public transportation network.
